Illuminated Bright
Will a 12v source illuminate (22) LED's, if each are rated at 2.1v a piece, really bright?
I have an xbox 360 and have a few 12v sources. I am adding an LED board strip full of 22 LED's. Will this amount of LED's be too much to illuminate coming from a 12v source? I want them really bright.
YOU DO NOT WANT THEM REALLY BRIGHT!!!!! UNLESS YOU WANT TO KILL THEM.
The brightness is controlled by the LED not the supply voltage.
You will not be able to drive 22 LEDs directly, you need to break them up into parallel circuits.
Using Ohms Law... V = I x R (I'm getting tired of explaining Mr Ohm's Law.... GOOGLE IT)
You cannot exceed Vmax without destroying the LED, and you must exceed Vmin of the LED will not conduct.
You need to know the Imax - maximum current the LED needs to light.
After you know I, and V, then calculate R
R is resistance. You need to drop the excess voltage across the resistance.
