Home Brewing

What are the raw ingredients needed for home brewing Light Beer?
I am new to home brewing. Just started my first batch today using a beer kit.
The taste I'm going for (And I know its blasphemy) is Miller Light, Coors, bud light etc...
But at nearly $30.00 for a kit = 2 cases of beer. its almost not worth it. What are the raw ingredients I would need and what would the proper preparation of these ingredients be? Also where could I find these ingredients? I doubt the local grocery store.
Also, Can someone dumb down these ingredients. I have viewd several sites who give "Clone recipes" and I have no idea what they are saying...
Corvato pretty much dumbed the ingredients down. Lagers are a bit more difficult to brew than ales due to the fact that you have to ferment them at lower temperatures. you might want to start with pale ale or steam/California common beer.
This book really helped me out for my first brew. Its available for free online or for purchase. I reference it all the time (I'm no pro) http://www.howtobrew.com/intro.html
There are plenty of places to get beer supplies from try googling your cities name followed by brew supplies. If you dont have a local retailer try looking for one online.
I have used these online retailers-
http://morebeer.com/ http://www.breworganic.com/easy-brewkits.aspx
A clone recipe is a recipe that someone has made up that is meant to emulate a certain beer or certain style. I would not try going of someones clone recipe for your first brew. what you should do is consider ordering a extract brew kit.
take a look at the link I provided ( www.howtobrew.com) and do a bit of reading. specifically the chapter on your first brew. that should probably be enough to give you a jump start on brewing.
Cheers and Good Luck
Paul

Hearts Home Brew Is Ideal For Beginners To Wet Their Whistle
During the days of prohibition people used to head for hills, set up their own stills and brew their own alcoholic beverages. To this day, people still like to brew their own alcohol from beer, straight alcohol and wine and Hearts home brew in Florida is considered one of the leaders in home brewing supplies in the country.
Regardless of your experience level Hearts home brew has everything you need to make your own brew at home and even offers recipes and flavorings to enable you to get started in other avenues of the brewing hobby. Whether making alcohol, wine or beer is tougher will depend on the person doing the brewing, as well as their patience in waiting for the brew to ferment properly.
However, even if you buy everything you need at Hearts home brew and follow all directions, when working with steam at high temperatures, there is always a danger and users need to use caution.
Hearts home brew offers kits and instructions on converting that old refrigerator into a home draft beer dispenser as well as a variety of taps available for many different styles of kegs in which you brew draft beer.

The company also sells barrels, bungs and taps in which to keep your home brews.
Having a passing interest in home brewing may be reason enough to pick up a starter kit from Hearts home brew and see if you like it. By using the right equipment and quality ingredients as well as following the directions completely, the brew should turn out exactly as described every time.
