How to set up a home recording studio?
Im only 12 but Im getting serious about my music and I wanna record a couple of songs on my laptop.
Ive got a couple of questions:
1. Is there a headset that you can plug into your pc which is under £50?
2. What do I need to make a home recording studio?
3. What cable should I use to plug my electric guitar into my pc?
4. Is all of this possible on a budget of under £200?
5. Is all of this possible for a 12 yr old kid to do (with help of parents) if shes good with computers?
6. What is the best recording software which is easiest to use and is pretty cheap?

What you need to get started:
Try a local electronics store for the headphones.
To connect the guitar get a converter plug from the same store. 1/4 inch to 1/8 inch (6.5mm to 3.5mm). Uses your normal guitar cable.
To record - Audacity is a good, free, multi-track audio recording and editing program.

Version 1.2 via File menu, version 1.3 via Edit menu.
Preferences / Audio I/O tab and check:
"play other tracks while recording new one".
Import the first track then monitor it while recording subsequent track/s.
It's best to use headphones while doing this.
