Hardy Neon Sign

Why do my fish keep dying???
Ive had a new aquarium up and running now for just over a week its been on constantly cycling and ive added water safe and liquid bacteria. I went to my local aquatic shop yesterday and told the owner all this and asked if it was ok to put fish in yet. She said it would be fine to put some quite hardy fish in to get the bacteria built up, so on her reccomendation i got 5 zebra danio's and 5 neon tetra's. But one by one they're dying and it seems such a horrible death too they sort of forget how to swim and just float around the tank bumping into things (still breathing tho) There is no obvious sign of illness, no white spot or fin rot, so what is happening to them??? And most of all how can i stop it!!!???
I have had the water tested twice now once by a friend who has had an aquarium for 10 years and once by the shop i went to, to get the danio's etc my water apparently is perfect all things checked PH, Amonia etc everythings fine!!
You can stop it by returning the fish to the shop and telling them you're not going to fall for their BS again - THEN follow up on that threat by finding out about the fish before you buy them. Sorry, but it seriously annoys me that lfs don't care enough about fish to give beginners like yourself the reliable, proven advise that they need.
THIS is the truth: If you've had the tank cycling for a week, it's going to be at or near the highest point of ammonia concentration. The fish, already stressed from the move in the first place, are then exposed to a high concentration of ammonia and they're probably dying of acute poisoning. Have you tested for ammonia and nitrite?! In a cycling tank, ammonia will be about 2ppm after a week and you should have a small reading for nitrite! That's EASILY enough to kill the fish!
Not only that, but adding 10 fish at the same time overpowers a FULLY CYCLED filter - never mind one that's at the peak of ammonia concentration at the BEGINNING of a cycle. To avoid overpowering the filter, you should only add between 5 and 8 new fish at any one time - but THAT'S in a fully cycled tank..
Neons aren't strong enough to cycle a tank with. Many people out there think they are - but that's based on how strong they once were. They're not that strong now. My guess is, the fish that are dying are predominantly the tetras - right? Tbh though, even the Zebras are going to be suffering.
If you're not going to return the fish to the shop, carry out an IMMEDIATE emergency 50% water change using dechloronated water and start doing 20% DAILY water changes until the tank finishes the cycle - and the only reliable way to know if the tank has finished the cycle is to buy a test kit (liquid ones are the most accurate). See if you can get some seed media (mature media taken from an established tank) to help your filter as well. This is the only way to cut the cycling time unless you can get some Bactinettes - which are dormant bacteria, and kept in the fridge at the lfs. You could pour a whole bottle of "Nutrafin Cycle" or equivelent to the tank and see precious little difference for your trouble.
DO NOT add any more fish until ammonia and nitrite hold 0ppm and don't be hoodwinked by the lfs again. It's easy to assume they know what they're talking about because they sell them but they tell you what YOU want to hear in favour of a quick sale, instead of telling you the truth and giving you the advice you need. Reduce feeding to once every other day and remove any food left uneaten after 3 minutes.

Neon Sign $68.51 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Neon signs are luminoustube signs that contain neon or other inert gases at a low pressure. Applying a high voltage (usually a few thousand volts) makes the gas glow brightly. They are produced by the craft of bending glass tubing into shapes. A worker skilled in this craft is known as a glass bender, neon or tube bender. Neon sign tubes are distinguished from neon lamp bulbs by their length, customized shapes, higher operating voltages, and range of colors. The lightemitting tubes form colored lines with which a text can be written or a picture drawn, including various decorations, especially in advertising and commercial signage. By programming sequences of switching parts on and off, there are many possibilities for dynamic light patterns that form animated images.
