Hair Cuts Service
Canceling a service at a hair salon?

What is the etiquette/rules regarding cancelling a service that you are booked to do at a hair salon. For example, if you made an appointment for a hair cut and color, but something came up in the last minute and you only have time to do a hair cut, what is the best way to tell the hair dresser that you only want a hair cut today. Or should you just cancel the entire appointment and rebook?

Just call and tell them, whats the big deal? Your stressing out over nothing.

Where do you tip in the Netherlands after receiving a service?

Where should people tip, or are generally expected to tip, after a service is done for them? The context is the Netherlands. Please list as many places/situations as possible.
Just to start the conversation: Do you tip the barber/hairdresser after he or she cuts your hair? And if yes, how much is generally appropriate? (Percentage of the bill, or fixed amount?)

I tip in restaurants. Between 5% and 10% mostly but by no means all of the time.
But I hardly ever tip anywhere else.
I do round up to the next whole euro in a taxi, sometimes, but rarely.

All people working in the Netherlands earn a living wage, tipping went out of fashion when the wages were raised years back, before I was old enough to handle money.
And earning a small wage myself, I do not feel the need to award people in the same income category for their normal work.
