Guinness Stout

Women-Which is better Murphy's Stout vs. Guinness Stout?
I don't want to hear about Irish vs. English BS. Just wich is better and why? *********Also, which one do women prefer?
I prefer guiness over murphy. Guiness has a more coffee/chocolate bitter taste, and murphy's there more bitterness then any actual flavor. This is just my preference.

Guinness $16.46 For millions of beer lovers the world over, a properly poured pint of Guinness Stout is as close to perfection as beer gets. Each year, fans of the legendary black liquidation enjoy two billion pints of the beer known for its distinctive creamy head and rich drinkability. Ireland's most famous export, Guinness Stout—and the people who have brewed it—hold a unique place in the history of beer, business, and Ireland itself. They say that good things come to those who wait. When you wait on a perfectly poured pint of Guinness Stout, you know you're getting something good. It's more than just a pint of beer; it's a mouthwatering visual presentation of the quality and taste you're about to enjoy. And millions wait patiently for their pint every day. To find out why, famed beer and beverage writer Bill Yenne talks to everyone from Guinness's master brewer to typical pubgoers about the beer they hold dear. Whatever magic makes it so delicious, it's powerful enough to soothe the souls of beer lovers from Dublin to Boston to Buenos Aires to Lagos, and everywhere in between. But Guinness is more than a delicious beverage, it's also the name of the remarkable family of brewers and entrepreneurs whose story is worthy of legend, and who occupy a prominent place in Irish history. In Guinness, Yenne traces the 250-year tale of the family and its namesake beer. Beginning with Arthur Guinness, the entrepreneur patriarch who first began brewing at St. James's Gate, Dublin, in 1759, the story follows succeeding generations of the Guinness family through the years. Yenne follows not just the fortunes of the family Guinness, but also the development of the brand and the beer—from Arthur's earliest porter to the beer that is enjoyed in 150 countries today. For Guinness aficionados, this tale offers an inside look at a legendary brewing company and the craftsmanship and pride that go into every keg. For anyone who hopes to keep their business vibrant and dynamic for the next few centuries, the book offers important lessons on continuity, quality, and innovation. For everyone who loves a good beer story, Guinness offers a perfect pint more than two centuries in the pouring.Sit back and enjoy. |

The Search for God and Guinness (Hardcover) $33.93 The history of Guinness, one of the world`s most famous brands, reveals the noble heights and generosity of a great family and an innovative business. It began in Ireland in the late 1700s. The water in Ireland, indeed throughout Europe, was famously undrinkable, and the gin and whiskey that took its place was devastating civil society. It was a disease ridden, starvation plagued, alcoholic age, and Christians like Arthur Guinness-as well as monks and even evangelical churches-brewed beer that provided a healthier alternative to the poisonous waters and liquors of the times. This is where the Guinness tale began. Now, 246 years and 150 countries later, Guinness is a global brand, one of the most consumed beverages in the world. The tale that unfolds during those two and a half centuries has power to thrill audiences today: the generational drama, business adventure, industrial and social reforms, deep-felt faith, and the beer itself."Frothy, delicious, intoxicating and nutritious!¿¿No, I`m not talking about Guinness Stout-I`m talking about Stephen Mansfield`s fabulous new book...The amazing and true story of how the Guinness family used its wealth and influence to touch millions is an absolute inspiration." - Eric Metaxas, New York Times best-selling author"It`s a rare brew that takes faith, philanthropy and the frothy head of freshly-poured Guinness and combines them into such an inspiriting narrative. Cheers to brewmaster Stephen Mansfield! And cheers to you, the reader! You`re in for a treat." - R. Emmett Tyrrell Jr., Founder and editor-in-chief of The American Spectator |

Guinness 250 Anniversary Stout
Enjoying Guinness In Dublin
The Irish are often stereotyped as jovial characters who enjoy a drink – with their choice of drink naturally being a Guinness. While this stereotype may not be wholly accurate, there's no denying the draw Guinness has in attracting visitors to Ireland's capital, Dublin.
The Guinness storehouse – situated at St James' Gate – is one of the most visited locations in Dublin; a fact bolstered by the rumour that the dark stout tastes better in its country of origin than anywhere else in the world.
The drink was first brewed in 1759 by Arthur Guinness – two facts that proudly adorn the front of Guinness cans and taps the world over. Born in 1725 in the Irish town of Celbridge, Arthur learned the trade of brewing from his father who made beer for workers on his estate. When he was left £100 in the will of his godfather, Arthur started brewing on the outskirts of Dublin and in 1759 he moved to the current location where he signed a 9000 year lease.
Guinness is well known for its dark colour – many presume it to be black but when held up to the light it shows a more colourful, dark ruby side. This dark colour is not achieved by artificial colourings or strange ingredients – Guinness contains the same five components as all other beers – but the flaked and roasted barley turns the liquid dark. Because of the thickness of Guinness, many believe it holds a significant amount of calories and can, in extreme instances, be drunk in place of a meal. This, however, has been proved false as a pint of Guinness contains around 170 calories – fewer than a pint of skimmed milk.
The rumour that Guinness tastes different in Ireland holds true to a certain extent. The stout is now brewed the world over and different locations have slightly different tastes – the Nigerian brewery, for example, uses sorghum instead of barley for the Guinness Foreign Extra Stout. Nigeria is the third fastest growing market for Guinness because of the resident brewery.
For travellers wanting the authentic taste, they should always look to cans of Guinness draught which uses the same recipe as the stuff that is poured in pubs from Ireland to India. A special widget in the can helps to give the same head as a hand-drawn pint.
However, the proof of the pudding is in the tasting and pubs, bars and Dublin hotels are all sure to have the city's famous pint available for tourists to test the theory that it tastes best in its home country. Setting has a significant impact on the taste, so to be sure of getting the most out of the drink settle down to a filling and warming dinner whilst listening to traditional Irish music.
