Great Tin

I need a little motivation. We're doing some re-modeling in our bedroom, ie: tin ceiling, built-in bookshelves
and doing this turned the whole house upside down. It seems like the livingroom and den got most of the fall out. I'm walking from room to room, not knowing where to begin, or should I say not wanting to begin! Bedroom looks great so I don't want to put anything back in there! What to do? Where to begin? Somebody help me!!!
this happened to me with remodeling the main room in our house, everything had to be moved out, into other rooms...I packed up all the stuff what-nots,pictures,I had for years and put in plastic rubbermaid containers, what I wanted to save, labeled and put in garage,or storage house. Then everything else,I sold at garage sale cheap.furniture and all,if I didn't use it,I sold it,or gave it away! I put up a new bookshelf and stored some of it...and put some of it in my closets..but the best thing if you don't use it,need it,or want it,,,get rid of it!

Great Indian War Tin $8.44 Rated: NASynopsis: The year 1540 was a crucial turning point in American history. The Great Indian Wars were incited by Francisco Vazquez de Coronado when his expedition to the Great Plains launched the inevitable 350-year struggle between the white man and the American Indians. From that point forward, the series of battles between the military and civilian forces of the United States and the native American Indians began when blood was shed and ultimately tens of thousands of lives were lost on both sides. The Battle of Tippicanoe, the Battle of Horseshoe Band, all three Seminole Wars and the Battle of Little Big Horn were some of the most important conflicts that led up to the last massacre, the Battle of Wounded Knee, where America's landscape would be forever changed! |

Tin Men $6.57 Rated: RSynopsis: The second of director Barry Levinson's Baltimore Trilogy (the first was Diner, the third Avalon), Tin Men seems at first glance to be much ado about nothing. Set in 1963, the story begins when two aluminum siding salesmen, played by Richard Dreyfuss and Danny DeVito, are involved in a traffic accident. Fueled by their own individual frustrations--Dreyfuss dislikes the phonier aspects of his profession, while DeVito is unhappily married to Barbara Hershey--the two men begin an all-out war of harassment against one another. DeVito goes on a destructive rampage against Dreyfuss' material possessions, while Dreyfuss contrives to steal away DeVito's wife. An ironic twist of fate ironically, brings the two men to common ground at the finale. As with the earlier Diner, Levinson spends a great deal of screen time showing small minds obsessed with small things: counterpointing the snow-balling hostilities between Dreyfuss and DeVito is Jackie Gayle as DeVito's partner, who can talk of nothing but the TV series Bonanza. Michael Tucker, who like Barry Levinson was Baltimore born and bred, repeats his Diner role as "Bagel." Listen for director Levinson's voice as a baseball stadium announcer. Hal EricksonChicago Sun-TimesBecause Tin Men is based on fundamental truth, it is able to be funny even in some of its quieter moments. The good jokes always hurt a little. This movie isn't slapstick and it's not a farce; it's the kind of comedy the guy was thinking about when he wrote, "We laugh, that we may not cry." The Great Tin Baking Experiment!
Using Tins for your Wedding Favors
By using aluminum tins to present your wedding favors, you are not only providing some stylish packaging but some which can be used again long after the wedding favors themselves have expired.
Read on to find out why these small tins are a great alternative to traditional card wedding favor boxes.
A Question of Style & Practicality
There is no doubt that a small metal tin is going to be more durable than a card box. Placing your wedding favors in tins is more likely to ensure that your guests get them home in one piece, rather than using flimsy card boxes which can get squashed and battered over the course of the reception.
Tins also offer a better container for small items such as seeds and because of the tight seal on the lid perishable items such as chocolates or cookies should stay fresher for longer, meaning you can make up your wedding favors slightly earlier than if you were packaging them by other means. This is also good news for those who are having a destination wedding as they will be able to take the favors with them without fear of them being damaged en-route.
Tins also offer a more contemporary cum modern style to your wedding and are a popular choice if you want to steer away from the traditional wedding look of frills and bows.
Here are some of the types of wedding favors particularly suited to tin packaging:
- Candles – you will find candles already made in tins and available in a variety of sizes and scents.
- Plant seeds – a favor so tiny needs a suitable container to keep them in and tins provide the perfect solution. Tins also help to keep them moisture free and fresh, it also gives your guests somewhere practical to store them until they are ready to be planted.
- Candies – small candies can be presented in tins to great effect and look great when you mix the colors and use tins with clear lids.
- Mints – the original occupants of tins, you will find mint tins in many shapes and sizes.
- Chocolates – putting chocolates in tins will certainly help to keep them fresher and can avoid things like melting and getting squashed, but choose your chocolates carefully as tins large enough for luxurious truffles may be too expensive to be viable.
- Soaps – small scented soaps would also suit tins or choose one soap large enough to fill your tin of choice.
- Bath flakes/granules – these are well suited to being presented in tins as they won’t get stuck together or squashed in the packaging which can leave a rather sticky mess behind!
As you can see tins provide the ideal packaging solution for a range of wedding favors. Get some personalized stickers printed to place on the top as well as a finishing touch. You will many of the favor stores provide this service and can give you a range of design options for the size and shape of tin you are using.
