I have two neon tetras in a small tank that actually says on the box that its made for them but my question is, what is the best food for them? I have been feeding them tetramin "tropical crisps" because the petco here didn't have the flakes. Is that okay. They seem to hesitate before eating any of it but when I had a few at home...they at the flakes alot! Thanks
Neons are a pretty flexible fish, as long as your feeding them tropical flakes, and maybe supplement some meat (freeze dried bloodworms, or baby brine shrimp) in their diet, they will be nice an happy.

This stunning, lushly photographed book is the definitive guide to Thailand’s diverse, vibrant street food and culture, from the world’s most distinguished scholar and chef of Thai cuisine. Thai Street Food transports readers to Thailand’s street stalls and markets, from the pre-dawn rounds of monks fanning the aisles to neon-lighted dtam sang (“made to order”) stalls jammed with hungry locals at night. With nearly 100 recipes organized into morning, noon, and night chapters, this ambitious book shares authentic recipes for vibrant salads; stir-fried curries; steaming noodle soups; and sweet, rich desserts. While David Thompson may profess, “It’s all about the food,” his insights into the rhythms and nuances of Thai daily life along with his fascinating history of street food ensure that this book is the most tempting, inspiring, and exhaustively researched account about street food ever published.
What Is The Worst Food That Produces Bad Cholesterol
What is the worst food that produces bad cholesterol is an interesting subject. After all, we have heard a lot about heart healthy foods and some suspicious minded individuals might come to the conclusion that this is by design. Think about it, when you go to the supermarket heart healthy products are labeled as such, products that contain cholesterol lowering plant stanols and sterols are clearly marked. But where is the flashing neon sign proudly proclaiming that I am the worst food that produces bad cholesterol. And if you pay close attention you will find these products (no sign) at eye level, in many instances.
But what is the worst food that produces bad cholesterol. Honestly, it is difficult to pick a winner in the worst food that produces bad cholesterol category. Who gets the blue ribbon, the trophy for finishing first for clogging more arteries than any other product on the market.
I recently saw a show on television about one nationality that loved to consume massive amounts of animal fat. Well that one isn't sold in my grocery store, thus it is deemed ineligible , and can't win the award. Lets narrow it down to four choices.
*Stick butter: Stick butter is pure butter fat. It tastes great, is a good source for energy, works well on cooking burns, and is used for making delicious recipes worldwide. And perhaps more importantly, in the category of food that produces bad cholesterol is 65 percent saturated fat.
*Coconut/Coconut Oil: Nothing better than a couple of scoops of coconut ice cream or some French fries fried up in coconut oil. Hard to resist, right! What if I told you coconut oil was 93 percent saturated fat and that a 2 inch square of coconut contained 15 grams of coconut oil. It's a good thing those stranded boater got off of that deserted island teaming with coconuts. Why worry about sharks when you have coconuts.
*Beef liver: Now I realize that most of you don't wake up in the morning dreaming of having a king sized potion of beef liver but there is a restaurant close to where I live that sells liver and onions like crazy. As far as fat and cholesterol go it would just make sense that liver is really high in saturated fat and cholesterol since the liver is responsible for producing the body's daily requirements for cholesterol. Liver is over 60 percent saturated fat and a 3 ounce serving contains a whopping 330 mg of cholesterol. That should be enough to get your own sign that proclaims liver is the worst food that produces bad cholesterol. Or at least a sign in the meat department.
In the end I can't pick a winner. They are all so deserving of the being deemed the winner that it just wouldn't be right to give one of them first place. I will leave it up to you to sort this one out.
