Should I stop my credit card payment, after receiving from the florist old flowers?
Hi, I ordered flowers for my fathers funeral, saw a few samples outside the shop said that I liked them and asked for something similar, the florist has delivered what looks like the display flowers two days later and they look ready for the bin.Should I stop my mastercard payment. I called and left a message on her voicemail that I was Really disappointed but she has not come back to me? i

You have done correctly so far, Why muck it up?
First thing is always to contact the seller (Shop or Private). Let them know you are unhappy and why.
Was there any guarantee as to how long the flowers would last?
Were you given any information about how long they would last and the care required for them? is 1/2 an Asprin in the Water makes them last longer. If cut the stems should be cut on a slant not Flat across the stem,(More fluid can get into the stem).
They have provided flowers so you cannot refuse to pay for them just because they have not lasted as long as you thought they should?(Are you a flower Expert).
But what you can do is offer what you regard as a proper price for goods provided. That is for restaurants when you pay the bill!!!
In this case as you have already paid by MasterCard and by the sounds of it a few days ago so to be honest I think you are too late to stop payment.
Do you have Photos of the flowers when delivered and the after 2 days. If so you could still contact them and as required advise them you are going to take them to the Small Claims Court.
You would have to pay about £35-£40 for thew court application fees,
There are no lawyers, just the 2 of you and a judge, which is why hey are so cheap and cases do not last long.
If you win the case you get the amount you claimed for (What you think you were overcharged) and the Flower shop also pays you back the Court fees. You can both take witnesses so if someone was with you when you ordered them and can testify as to how long you were told the flowers should last. That would help but check with them first if they change from saying the flower shop said "They Will" to "They ought to" could Win or Lose the case for you?
So you now need to write them a letter include who you are and the order number
Then tell them you are not happy and that you have left messages on their answerphone and had no reply (Preferably with Date) How much you think the flowers were worth? (Possible sticking point depending what was promised for the order and did you/they have a witness) what you paid for them and how much you think they should reimburse you.
Give them a date 1 weeks time to respond or that you will start Small Claims Court Proceedings.
As I have said before you do not tell us when you paid with the MasterCard so only you know if you can stop the payment>
If you can, Write the letter giving details explaining why you have stopped the payment, giving details of amount charged, Amount you think they are actually worth and send them a cheque to that amount. They will deposit the cheque then have to decide if they think it is worth trying to get the est out of you.
