a saddle to fit my horse?
I have a Norwegian fjord horse who i am having trouble fitting in an english saddle. he is a little over weight, but even when he is in good shape he just has a very round barrel like shape, he also has very small withers. I have a wide treed saddle that seems to fit him, but it slips even with the girth tightened. For my western saddle i use a breast collar which really seems to help it stay in place, but i was wondering if there was something like that for english riding? And also would it be acceptable to use in shows?

You need to get him a saddle with a different kind of tree- a hoop tree, to be more specific. With wider horses with mutton withers, you need to spread out the contact of the saddle in a more rounded way than regular trees, so that you don't get the slipping problem that's avoided with horses who have more prominent withers.
You need to do a tracing and send it to a saddle fitter so that you can find the best saddle to fit him, because just getting a wider saddle isn't going to fix anything. It doesn't fit if it doesn't stay on without help besides the girth.
