how do i get referred to the dental hospital for treatment with sedation if i am not registered with a dentist?

i am scared stiff of dentists and urgently need dental treatment on my front tooth, my last dentist was really rough and made me cry whilst i was pregnant and it has scared me so much i haven't been back in 2 years although i know i need urgent treatment, is there anynway i could get an appointment at a dental hospital without being referred from a dentist.

You do need a referral from your own dentist to for sedation dentistry.
Sedation dentistry is now done in house or by referral to another practise offering sedation dentistry.

The days of going to the hospital for simple normal dentistry under sedation has gone and is reserved for more complex treatments.

Ask around everyone you know and see who they see and why and find another one that you can trust and take it from there.

Educating Children to Help Them Control Their Fear of the Dentist

Being afraid of the dentist is justifiable to a certain extent, in the past few decades until procedures have come a long way from what they were, but much fear dental drill is being tried to be replaced with other tools which are fiendlier, air abrasion tools as well as painless plasma needles are excellent tools which progress to eliminate the use of the much fear dental drill.

Sedation dentistry has also become quite popular because of the fact that help patients can go to the dentist had a complex procedure done to them without feeling any pain at all because most of the time it will be asleep, some dentist will even go as far as using laughing gas or drugs which are given to people in order to manage their insomnia, when it comes to laughing gas and related drugs the patient may even not have the slightest memory of what really happened, some may even question whether or not they went through the procedure they were supposed to.

The point we're trying to make here is that in this day and age the dentist should no longer be feared nor should we encourage or nurture our children to fear the dentist. It has been proven that the emotions such as fear are learned, in other words we are not born with the ability to sense fear, this is the main reason why a baby would have no problem crawling towards a snake and actually grabbing it, as that very same baby grows older he or she will start learning from the apartment and the people that surround him or her. This analogy is meant to illustrate one point which is that children are afraid of the dentist because their parents are afraid of the dentist.

A few years ago (2006) an eight-year-old girl died because she had developed such phobia of the dentist that she absolutely refuse to open her mouth even to eat. What is amazing is that such age her mother couldn't convince her that the dentist was not to be feared and that any pain that she would feel will quickly go away. The little girl had to undergo a simple tooth extraction but because of her fears the dentist decided to remove all of the temporary teeth at once, this was done at a hospital where she was given proper care and later on sent home to recover, by the time she was released from the hospital the dentists were happy because she was actually recovering. When the little girl got home she would not open her mouth to eat, her mother told doctors at the little girl would only open her mouth to eat small watermelon slices and nothing else. After a month per released from the hospital this kid was found dead on her bed because she absolutely refuse to open her mouth based on the fears of the dentist, if this to say this strategy could have been avoided if her parents were gotten involved in properly educated the child about the benefits of going to the dentist. Take some time off your busy schedule to teach your children not to fear the one doctor who save their smiles and in the case of this little girl, her life.
