1989 Chevy Beretta fuel system question!!!?
I have an 89 Beretta with a 2.8L V6. Although the car has 130K miles, the engine has less than 20K. It has sat for 3-4 years. I have now given it a complete tuneup (all fluids, plugs, wires, filters), changed the ignition coil, fuel pump, fuel lines, brake lines... you get the point. I can get the engine to start, but once I do the gas seems to flood out the engine. To the point that gas is now mixed in with the oil. I noticed this when the engine running and oil began overflowing from the dipstick. The car WILL run, but there is definitely a good amount of gas in the oil, that was not there before since I just changed the oil. My thought is fuel injector stuck open, a seal gone bad, or maybe the fuel pressure regulator gone bad. I am of course just guessing. The last thing I had done to it was exchanging the fuel pump. Maybe possible the fuel pump sending unit could have been damaged or maybe the fuel pump itself is malfunctioning and wont quit sending fuel? Any thoughts??????
Fuel injector's bad stuck wide open and this is bad don't run this car long with this problem it will wash the cylinder's and it will take out your rings. this is symptomatic of bad or old gas. You could try a fuel injection serves but sounds like a lose lose situation. good luck.Oh ya I watched a 69 GTO Blow the valve covers Right Off and dented the guys pretty hood .The fuel pump diaphragm leaked fuel into the crank case and and Kaboom!!!

Why Your Car Blows Smoke
If your car has all of the sudden started blowing smoke out the tail pipe there is no immediate need to start panicking. No matter how bad you may think this is, it may not always be a major problem.
Your car can blow smoke from the tailpipe for many reasons. Engine smoke is generally caused because it is old and worn. Generally when an engine is worn it will blow smoke because oil will leak into the cylinders through worn valve guides in the engines head, the other possibility is that the oil rings around the pistons are also worn.
The color of the smoke coming out of your tailpipe can generally indicate what kind of engine problem you may be having. There are 3 colors of smoke that your engine can emit.
1. Black Exhaust Smoke
2. Grey Exhaust Smoke
3. White Exhaust Smoke
The first type of exhaust smoke, black, is generally an indicator that there is too much fuel getting into the cumbustion chamber and is not being burned fully. This generally can be corrected with a full tuneup, for instance if your sparkplugs are fouled you could not be getting full detonation of the fuel.
Grey exhaust smoke is generally caused by oil burning in the combustion chamber, this is caused by oil leaking by through worn valve guides and or worn piston rings. Engines contain many moving mechanical parts, and over time, and with age these parts tend to wear and don't retain the same tight fit they did when they were once new. This maintenance repair can be costly, but is not needed to be done immediately.
The most serious repair needed is when white smoke is coming out of your tailpipe. This is an indicator of a blown head gasket, in this case coolant (such as water or anti-freeze) is getting into the combustion chamber. When you see white smoke billowing out from your tailpipe, your head gasket is going out, which can cause the car engine to overheat. If not repaired early enough you can cause the engine to seize or crack which would require a complete replacement.
Either way, when these situations present themselves, it is always best to take your car to the mechanic, because your car is made up of so many components which could cause these conditions. Getting a professional opinion is always the best thing to do.
