Color Yard
What plants grow best in the old sheep yard?
For thirty years, the yard has had sheep drafted through it. Two months ago, lime was spread in it. The nettle, that tells me it was quite an acidic soil, is now dying back. The soil is friable and quite dark. The soil is also stony. I could set up some trickle irrigation. I want to fill it up with plants with color and maybe plants that I could sell. Or even some sort of vegetable that I could sell?
Marigolds and Nasturtiums are colorful and great companion plants.That said pick what you like and plant it. You can amend the soil to grow most anything. If you like it that is all that matters. Use Seed Catalogs to get ideas as they have pictures and are a good source . Check also with local plant nurseries .

Is there anything that can dye or clean a stained plastic yard cup?
I have a few yard cups that have been sitting in my garage and are stained yellow. It's not because of beer though. The entire cup is stained yellow from bottom to top. I've cleaned them, but the stain doesn't seem to come out. Is there any home made solution to clean this or dye it to change the color?
It is not stain, it is the plastic breaking down. Many types of plastic become brittle and turn yellow as they age and UVs speed the process.
There is nothing you can do except to purchase new cups.
