I have a 1943 copper coated steel wheat penny that has what looks like a double strike but, the second strike?
I have a 1943 copper coated steel wheat penny that has what looks like a double strike. the second strike is on the back of lincolns right shoulder. The second strike made the the penny a little thinner on that part of the coin, "about a 1/4 inch area extending from just under the word liberty, to the middle of lincolns shoulder. Can graders tell the real ones from the fakes? If mine is real, is it potentially worth anything?
I presume you took the copper 1943 cent and found that it was attracted to a magnet so it had to be a copper coated zinc/steel cent. That right there makes it a fake copper cent. As for the double strike that needs to be seen to determine if that too was done outside the mint or not. a lot of errors are easily faked. As for the professional grading services they sure can tell a fake when they see it. Even if the double strike is authentic it would have little value due to it being copper plated. Another reason it would have little value is that being double struck is considered damage not an error if only minor, to have value it must be dramatic. It does make a interesting conversation item. Best I can do without actually seeing the coin.

For Neoprene:
If Neoprene rubber has been Talced then this should be removed by washing with detergent or wiping with solvent soaked rag. Liquid Rubber can be applied directly to Neoprene. Some swelling of the Neoprene should be expected but this will recover over time. The distortion resulting from the swelling will be greater if Neoprene is thin and not adhered to a rigid substrate.
For Polyurethane:
A light sanding of the surface is recommended for better adhesion. No swelling will occur.
