In January 2008 will '07 car models still be on rebate/sale?
I am trading in my current car (Volvo) but need to wait until January until I pay down the negative equity so it is a staight trade with no negative carry over to my new loan.
If you are a car salesman or in the car business, can you answer my question?
I was recently at the dealerships and they all have rebates and specials on the 2007 models and I thought the prices were great. In mid-January when I go back to trade my car, will the '07 models still be on the clearance or will they have been taken off the lot by then? If they are gone, will the new '08's have rebates on them? I am wondering because it seems they would want to get rid of the '07s to make room for the new year.
Also, how far below MSRP will the dealership go? I know they normally dont reveal their invoice for the car and am not sure how much they can lower the price in addition to rebates.

You can find some models but not a lot of the most popular models, so you can not be choosy.
I like manual cars so basically I can get good bargains because 95% of the people don't know how to drive stick.
