Comment on my plans.?
So i have a stop off at CDG Airport overnight. I land at 8PM and leave at 10AM the next day. I'm thinking i should be out of the airport by 9PM. I'll take a taxi to the Tour Eiffel stay there till it closes at midnight then head over to the Champs-Elysées for the rest of the night. I hear there's a lot of Pubs, Cafes and bars open very very late there. Then just head back to the airport. Sound like a good plan? Any better ideas?
Good plan on trying to enjoy the best of Paris in the few hours that you have.
The only thing I would comment on is that CDG airport will not be winning any awards for efficiency. As much as I hope that you are out by 9pm, it might be best to assume that you will be out around 9:30 - 10:00pm.
If you are travelling to the Eiffel tower before June 12, the last elevator up is at 11pm. If you are travelling from June 13 to August 31, the last elevator up is at midnight and the tower is open until 12:45 am.
You might find the Champs Elysees to be a bit pricey at night - maybe you want to consider the Saint Germain area closer to Notre Dame as it is very vibrant yet not quite as tourist trappy.
Finally, make sure you are back in plenty of time for your flight. Whatever your airline recommends, you should stick to it even if they say three hours in advance to check-in. I would not always recommend this early at every airport, but CDG is one where you want to be there early and before the traffic of the day kicks in.
