Are in-car LED message displays legal?
Hi
I'm thinking of getting one of those in-car LED displays (recently featured in Top Gear's caravanning episode) to be able to display 'baby on board' and 'keep your distance' etc messages.
On one forum though it seemed to suggest that these may not be legal - see http://www.rllmukforum.com/index.php?showtopic=147603 - please note however that there is some profanity on this external link.

Is anyone able to confirm this / quote any legalisation that would suggest this?

THERE ARE NOT LEGAL IN THE uk end of story not for private use anyway the police can use them and a few other offical bodies but completely illegal for normal use on the road
