How To Choose Net Curtains
We all have individual tastes in home design and interior decor. When it comes to choosing net curtains we should take the time to check out various styles and designs so that we can be sure we are making a purchase which adds to the overall appearance of our rooms. They are available in different materials and sizes. The primary purpose of a net curtain is to add a degree of privacy to the home; this is essential whether you live on a busy street or quiet rural neighborhood.
When you check out the options you will discover that there are four main styles available today. Each has been designed with a different purpose in mind; some are more suitable to specific rooms or types of buildings than others.
Cafe style net curtains: Though this design is often used in eating establishments they can also be a great choice for your kitchen or dining room. Typically they will only cover the lower portion of the window, this allows a degree of privacy while eating but also does not block out too much natural light; this is important when eating. They can be had in basic designs or emblazoned with patterns or a logo/motif.
Voile style net curtains: These are larger in size than the cafe style. They can be used to add a greater touch of elegance to any room. No matter what size your windows you can find a voile net curtain which matches perfectly your home decor. The amount of light which is diffused will vary on the exact design that you buy. There are those which filter only a little and others which will darken your room to a degree. All will give you a greater amount of privacy.
Jardiniere style: Jardiniere curtains offer a very unique and distinct style. There shape often allows them to be viewed in a more chic upmarket manner. For this reason they are best suited to bedrooms and living rooms; they would look out of place in the kitchen and dining room. They can even make the room feel warmer.
Apart from the actual styles there are other factors that you need to consider before making any purchase. For example, how often would you need to wash the curtains? A net curtain can easily take on a grimy appearance if you live in a polluted area. You would want to choose a fabric that is easy to wash and quick to dry.
Always make sure you take the correct measurements. A net curtain may be bigger or smaller than the actual window. Usually they would be smaller. How are you going to attach the net curtains to the other curtains or window frame? Some will need to be attached to poles or rods whereas others may need to be fastened to the original curtains or even physically pinned to the window frame.
By taking time to compare options you should be able to make a purchase which is perfect for your home or office.
