Boxer dog hematoma or tumor in ear?

I have a 9 year old boxer who has had a ear hematoma and a few non-cancerous tumors on his right front leg. We had a procedure done on his left ear to get rid of the hematoma and it worked out fine but now he is irritated again and is shaking his head making the other ear red. However my parents analyzed it (they're not vets just using what they know) and they think it COULD be a tumor because of its location (its kind of close to the ear canal on the top inside of the ear.
I know I should go to the vet to be absolutely sure but my parents don't show interest in doing that (I'm going to try to convince them) but in the meantime, I was wondering if anyone knew what it could possibly be.

It:
-Is red
-Bump in the toppish/back of the inside of the ear, and it kind of continues on for a centimeter or so torwards the left of the ear canal and thats it
- He has really bad allergies
- We have a cone on his head as of now

Hematomas are caused by the dog shaking its head. Head shacking is caused by either pain or itching. Either way the dog needs to see a vet. If you dog has allergies I would suspect that the dog has an ear allergy. It is very common in dogs. There are some sprays that your vet can give you that will help. Usually one big bottle will last months.
Since the dog is shaking its head you need to take it to the vet. It probably has an ear infection. After the infection is cleared and the hematoma removed (if he was one) then you need to keep the ears clean and use an allergy spray that the vet can give you.
To keep the dog's ears clean make a mixture of half water and half white vinegar. take the dog outside and pour it into the dog's ears then rub at the base of the ear. That will make the dog shake his head. It is really messy so make sure to take the dog outside for this. The vinegar will loosen anything in his ear and him shaking will force the liquid and anything in his ear out. But this should only be done after the dog is treated for his current problem. Chronic ear infections in dogs with allergies is very common.

Developed in Germany, the Boxer is a breed of stocky, mediumsized, shorthaired dog. The coat is smooth and fawn or brindled, with or without white markings. Boxers are brachycephalic (they have broad, short skulls), and have a square muzzle, mandibular prognathism (an underbite), very strong jaws and a powerful bite ideal for hanging on to large prey. The Boxer was bred from the English Bulldog and the now extinct Bullenbeisser and is part of the Molosser group. Boxers were first exhibited in a dog show for St. Bernards at Munich in 1895, the first Boxer club being founded the next year. Based on 2008 American Kennel Club statistics, Boxers are the sixth most popular breed of dog in the United States for the second year in a rowmoving up in 2007 from the seventh spot, which theyd held since 2002 with 33,548 new dog registrations during the year. Dog With A Box On His Head - Parry Gripp

Boxer dog afraid of something?

My 5 year old boxer had the same bed for 4 years but I recently changed it for a smaller one (keeping her original bedding). Since then she won't go into the new bed or the old one or even lie on the bedding on its own. She shakes and her ears go right back on her head - she is petrified of something. Don't know whether it's me changing her bed or whether something has actually spooked her in the kitchen. She seems calm enough in the lounge....... but the minute it's bed time.........shake, shake, shake!!! I'm at my wits end!!!

cant be fleas or mites can it?maybe a mouse? I duno but have you tried moving the bed from the area you had it? ot getting a plugin night light?

How about getting her a whole new bed and keeping it in the lounge for the day and get her used to it?

My dog wouldnt go to bed alone and slept with me for a few weeks under the duvet, so we bot her a new bed and her own duvet, now every night at 9 she goes to bed herself even if we're still up. might be worth getting her something of urs to sleep on too
