Have to give a speech...what should I say?
I have to give a speech at the senior recognition banquet, thanking the parents and everything else, does anyone have any suggestions for topics or attention getters? I transferred in and I don't really feel like I belong in the class, but nobody else would do it so I got stuck doing it. I thought about telling a story that my priest told at graduation mass where the moral of the story was to always leave room for a couple of beers, but my school has evangelical quaker roots and I'm not sure that will really float. Any suggestions?
You're are smart to know your audience. Approach with confidence and know what you're going to say. An opening line to get their attention helps. Focus on them; people like to hear about themselves and their friends. Joke about keeping it brief. Since you're not originally from the area, bring your own unique stories/ expressions with you. Have fun!
