Why does Copper Sulfate turn white once once it has lost all its 5 waters and blue when hydrated?
I did an experiment recently that invloved evaporating water from 55 ml of Copper Sulfate Solution so that solid copper sulfate remained. When all the water has been evaporated, a blue "powder" was left (or were they Copper Sulfate crystals?). However, the Copper Sulfate "powder" was heated a little too long, and they turned white. Why does the Copper Sulfate turn white when it loses it's waters? Why does it turn blue when hydrated? If you could provide any other information or website links regarding this topic, feel free! Thank you!
The hydrate and anhydrous forms are actually different compounds and different compounds can have different colors. Some don't change color, such as sodium carbonate, where both forms are white.

Scrape copper can be normally found anywhere in the house from your kitchen utensils to your garage metal garbage. The only thing that is keeping you unaware of these things is that you don't know how to find them. Scrape copper can be a good thing to sell because most industry manufacturers buy them so that they can build cheaper products.
So here are some tips on how to find scrape copper in your old home and give you additional short time income that you can use on some of your miscellaneous expenses.
