2001 BMW 740i Sport, my air conditioning/heating system turns on every time i turn on the car. help?
every time i turn on the car after having it off for like 10 min. the air conditioning/heating turns on. anyone know what the problem is? also if i turn the car on, turn off the air, turn off the car, turn it right back on, the problem wont accur. only when the car has been off for more then like 10 min.
BMW has a feature called "Preference Settings" which are programmed into the key. In the case of multiple drivers, the system will "recognize" key #1 and that driver's preference settings as it concerns climate control, seat positioning, and rearview mirrors placement. It will also "recognize" key #2 and that driver's preferences. Check whether the key you're using is causing a default to these settings. If so, you will need to either change those settings or delete them in their entirety. To do so, you will need to follow the steps outlined in your driver's manual. If you no longer have the manual, your dealer's service dept can do this for you.
