Acrylic Panels
I have a large aquarium and I may want to change the design of it.?
My aquarium is 220 gallon acrylic with built in filtration panels that the water flows over and in to the filter. The panels are tall so a lot of floating particles float around in the tank because they are to heavy to float up and go over the top of the panels. My filter is more than adequate size for the tank but those panels are making it hard to work with. I have a Fluval FX5 filter for tanks up to 400 gallons.
MY QUESTION IS, CAN I REMOVE THE PANELS WITHOUT HARMING THE INTEGRETY OF MY TANK ??? The tank is rectangular, 8 feet long by 30 inches deep by 20 inches tall. The panels are attached in the back corners of the tank diagonally. and go from the bottom of the tank almost to the top. They are cut like combs to stop larger things from going into the filter. and they are only about an inch and a half from the top of the tank.
Any advice would be helpful.
If the pannels are part of the Tank I would definatly leave them alone.
You may be lucky and nothing happens but If it were to buckle that would be a costly mistake. More than likely for that size of tank you have some sort of water movement system in the tank.
If your talking about leftover fish / food waist particles here is what I would do.
I would suggest you place a few powerheads where the particles are accumulating. To move them around so the canister filter can grab them.

Different Types Of Greenhouse Panels
The material of your greenhouse is a very significant factor in terms of heat transfer and the heat it can retain, durability, and the cost in keeping maintaining a warm greenhouse temperature all throughout the winter months.

• Durability and estimated life of the panel until the need of replacement.

Fiberglass, glass and polycarbonates, are excellent choices for one who is into a greenhouse hobby. Plastic panels are commonly used in commercial large greenhouses although they are not very durable and entail frequent replacing.
Glass, the traditional greenhouse paneling has a very pleasing appearance, can be easily and reasonably maintained and has high level of permanency. When one is really concerned about the look of the greenhouse, then glass can be a good choice for paneling.
Glass permits large amounts of light to pass through, in fact amongst all paneling, it is glass that can transmit light effectively, and however, it can break easily.
